Introduced from Bordeaux in the 1850s, the variety found an exceptional home in Argentina, where old, pre-phylloxera vines thrive in high-altitude terroir. In the Uco Valley, vineyards sit between 2,950 and 3,600 feet above sea level, with hot days, cold nights, low rainfall, and sandy-stony alluvial soils that encourage deep color, concentration, and natural freshness. Tamari selects fruit from prime Uco Valley vineyards and balances intensity with approachability. Oak aging enhances notes of vanilla, toffee, and caramel, while ripe dark fruit and smooth tannins create a soft, persistent finish. Winemaker Andrea Ferreyra grew up immersed in Mendoza's wine culture and has more than 20 years of experience in the region. Her lifelong connection to the Uco Valley inspires wines crafted to encourage fellowship, creativity, and enjoyment.
