Founded in 1846 by chemist and wine merchant Sir Joseph Dubonnet, Dubonnet Rouge was crafted to improve quinine's bitter taste-an essential remedy for French Foreign Legionnaires in malaria-prone North Africa. Over time, it evolved from a medicinal tonic to France's favorite aperitif, favored in Paris's cafes during the Belle Epoque and celebrated across Europe. Its legendary advertising-most famously "Dubo, Dubon, Dubonnet"-captured the public's imagination and has endured as an icon of art-deco poster art. Today, this aromatised fortified wine, made from a blend of Ruby Cabernet, Ruby Red, and Muscat of Alexandria, infused with herbs, spices and cinchona bark, continues to charm a new generation of drinkers-equally at home in vintage cocktails, celebratory toasts, or as a refined aperitif served over ice. Think wisely. Drink wisely. Must be 21+ to enjoy.
