'La Copa Vermouth: The Revival of Classic Gonzalez Byass has revived the tradition of making vermouth in the Sherry region from a classic family recipe that has been preserved in the winery's historic archives since 1896. Vermouth production is firmly rooted in local winemaking traditions and Sherry based vermouth was historically produced in the region for many years. Based on the original recipe from the 19th century and the original label, La Copa is the return of a brand first registered by Gonzalez Byass in 1884. La Copa Rojo is a fine traditional red sherry vermouth, produced from Oloroso and PX soleras over 8 years and a meticulous selection of botanicals, to achieve a bittersweet, aromatic balance. La Copa Extra Seco is a dry white vermouth produced from Gonzalez Byass' iconic Fino soleras. Classic botanicals and red fruits are added to achieve a long and persistent balsamic aftertaste. La Copa vermouths breathe the essence of their Sherry origins making for a unique and complex character perfect to be enjoyed on their own or as an ingredient to cocktails. '

Tasting Notes

This vermouth is based on a Fino sherry with the addition of seven botanicals: wormwood, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, savory and red fruits. It is clean, elegant and intense with concentrated citrus aromas perfectly blended with the delicious bitter touches of wormwood and savory. It shows a persistent and long balsamic aftertaste due to the addition of red fruits. An elegant extra dry vermouth which clearly maintains its Fino origin. Ideal as an aperitif, served over ice with soda and in cocktails.
