Klipsun Vineyard has produced two of just 17 American wines to earn a 100-point rating from the Wine Advocate. Wine & Spirits notes Klipsun as "one of the top 25 vineyards in the world." For 32 years, Klipsun Vineyard founders restricted Klipsun grapes to only the finest wines from Washington. The name Klipsun is from the Chinook Indian language for "clipped sun or beautiful sunset." Strategically applied irrigated water comes primarily from a direct Yakima River sourced well and small batch irrigation sourcing from a nearby communal well. Since acquired in 2017, the Terlato family brings the vineyard to a new era of greatness replanting on American rootstock (resistant of pests) and in a 45 from north orientation that caters best to high latitude sun during the late growing season.
