Radici Taurasi Riserva is one of the defining wines of Mastroberardino and a symbol of the family's long relationship with Aglianico and the territory of Irpinia. First produced in 1986, Radici was the result of extensive research into vineyard exposure, soil composition and altitude. The Riserva is sourced from the upper section of the Montemarano estate, where high elevation, southeast exposure and clay-limestone soils create ideal conditions for producing Aglianico of great structure, aromatic finesse and longevity. The wine reflects generations of experience with Taurasi, combining traditional long maceration with extended ageing in French and Slavonian oak and a lengthy period of bottle refinement. Its name, "Radici," meaning "roots," reflects the deep connection between Mastroberardino, its vineyards and the ancient grape varieties of Campania. Powerful yet refined, Radici Taurasi Riserva stands as one of the clearest expressions of the family's philosophy: preserving the identity of Irpinia while creating wines capable of evolving for decades.

Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red in color. The bouquet is broad, complex and refined, with aromas of tobacco, spice, cherry, wild berries, plum and balsamic notes. The palate is enveloping and elegant, revealing plum, sour cherry, strawberry jam, black pepper and licorice. Structured tannins and balanced acidity provide depth and length, leading to a persistent, complex finish.
