Founded in 1974 by entrepreneur Giuseppe Castiglioni in Ruffoli, on the hillside of Greve in Chianti, Querciabella remains a family-owned estate led today by Giuseppe's eldest daughter, Mita Castiglioni. Through decades of careful acquisition, the estate has grown to more than 220 acres of organic vineyards across the villages of Greve, Lamole and Radda in the heart of Chianti Classico, together with a coastal estate on Tuscany's Maremma coast - together representing the largest extension of biodynamically farmed, certified-organic vineyards in Italy. Querciabella's winemaking rejects artificial manipulation, including reverse osmosis, and uses peristaltic pumps so grapes never make direct contact with metal during vinification. Wines are aged in custom-made French oak barriques from a small group of cooperages the estate has worked with for years - among them Francois Freres, Sylvain and Taransaud - chosen for their fit with Querciabella's style and specific vineyard sites. The portfolio spans the structured Batar, Camartina, Palafreno and Turpino, the Maremma-grown Mongrana range, and the Chianti Classico DOCG wines that showcase pure Sangiovese fruit and the region's terroir.

Tasting Notes
Bright and energetic, with dark red cherry, purplish fruit, lavender and rose petal lifted by a gentle touch of French oak. Structured and vibrant, the tannins and fruit build toward a sumptuous, resonant finish that reflects the blend of Greve, Gaiole and Radda fruit.
