The St-Remy distillery was founded in 1886 in Machecoul, in the Loire Valley.At that time, the vineyards in the Charente region of France were badly damaged by phylloxera. In search of raw materials, the highly entrepreneurial Paul-Emile Re my Martin II identified Machecoul where the "Muscadet" grapes were close to the "Folle Blanche" used for his Cognac.
Tasting Notes
Subtle and smooth. Virgin woody notes are enriched with honey, nut and butter flavors. Fruity notes start fresh, and then become candied. Sweet spices create roundness and balance.
